I have decided to start a blog to deposit the creative molecules produced in my mind. The name Creative Molecules Incubator just came to me as I type. Some of these molecules might come together and grow into meaningful entities. Others might just fizzle out. But the immediate goal is to free-up my right frontal cortex for creativity purpose.

So why Novel Haus? Well I am sick and tired of seeing my dormant ideas from a decade ago pop up on TV or draped all over a bus. By depositing them here, I hope to take action and convert them from idea to reality. The name 'Novel Haus' says it all. This is a space for novel ideas and creative projects. It's where dreams come true.

The first project I created was a tribute to my late aunt, who brought me up since I was three (Photo of her used as the book cover). She was the best cook in the world and I wanted to imortalise her recipes and share her legacy. (Fortunately I managed to complete most of it before she passed.)

I spoke to a group of creative friends who generously contributed their time to help with the project. The plan was to interview my aunt for her unwritten recipes, put them together in legible format, test and photograph. Madelanne Surassattian kindly helped in the kitchen with her awesome cooking skills whilst Tawfik El Gazzar (elgazzar.com.au) so munificently shared his amazing eye for details behind the lens.

This was not going to be just another recipe book. This was a Novel Haus project! So I enlisted an amazing writer friend of mine Adrian Schmidt to help put the book together. The result is a fusion of biography, inspirational non-fiction, cookbook and off-beat travelogue called The Pearl Kitchen (Visit the Kitchen).

Since young, I have had a wild imagination. Inside my mind is this vast fantasy world where all kinds of characters come alive. Many of the stories stayed in my grey matter because I never thought I could write. Through the years, my frustration grew, especially when some of the story ideas popped up in bestsellers and blockbusters. I tried putting story on paper, but never lasted past the first chapter. Without proper training and structure in writing, it was like grasping around in darkness. But then I found the Writers Studio (writerstudio.com.au).

They have showed me that anyone can write a novel if you follow a step-by-step structure and with great coaching. With the great support of my tutor Andrew Blanch, I have just finished writing the first draft of a science fiction novel!

And of course, Novel Haus intends to turn this into more than just a novel. The plan is to create a unique immersive experience for the reader through multiple sensory triggers (Follow the journey).

Owning an App seems to be a fad these days. With the explosion in mobile usage, Apps have become a way of life. Chat Apps are a dime a dozen, so why do I want to create another Chat App to add to the sea of choices.

ree

Well there was a time when I used to spend hours on the computer chatting in Internet Relay Chatrooms such as mIRC (mirc.com). The closest thing to it nowadays are Kik and Telegram. Dischord only allows you to chat with people you already know.

I wanted an App for creatives to bounce ideas and where companies could host Q&A for their products. So I learnt to put together an App without learning to code. With Bounce, I hope to create a space for true global communication without borders. The MVP is up and running but I am seeking likeminded people that has the expertise to maintain it (Let's Bounce).
